Ecuador – A Journey
right at the heart of the world
Ecuador is so compact that the scenery changes at the speed of light—snow-capped volcanoes, cloud forests, colonial towns, islands lost in the Pacific Ocean, and wildlife you won’t find anywhere else on the planet! Every day, you can wake up in a new world and discover ever more amazing facets of this country.

We’ll start with the vibrant atmosphere of Ecuador’s capital, with its colonial streets and Gothic architecture; we’ll stay in the heart of a cloud forest, marveling at the flight of hummingbirds, spend a night in the embrace of an ancient Spanish hacienda at the foot of the highest active volcano, see magnificent waterfalls and crater lakes, and soak in open-air hot springs right at the hotel.

And then the plane will carry us a thousand kilometers out into the Pacific Ocean, leaving us in a Lost World for six days. There’s not the slightest doubt—what else could you call a place where bizarre lava patterns stretch out beneath your feet, sea lions sprawl lazily on benches, two-hundred-year-old turtles are as big as humans, where you can swim with manta rays, film the dances of funny blue-footed boobies, and run along snow-white beaches with turquoise water. And just try to imagine what our world looked like hundreds, millions of years ago...

And, as always, we invite you to explore the country in the utmost comfort—just as we know how, love to do, and are delighted to show you! Are you ready?

Daily Schedule
June 9–21, 2026
(12 nights/13 days)
Day 1.
Hi, Quito!
We’ll meet you at the airport in Quito. Here are your welcome glasses of sparkling wine! And some inviting, crisply ironed bed linens.

On this day, we’ll take some time to relax after our transatlantic flight and explore the capital city, which was built on the foundations of an ancient Inca city and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique architecture.
As is our tradition, we’ll begin our culinary tour of the country at a restaurant serving contemporary Ecuadorian cuisine—one of the top-rated in Latin America—where we’ll enjoy our traditional welcome dinner.

A snow-white Spanish colonial-style mansion in the heart of Quito’s historic district—now a sophisticated 5-star hotel—will be our home for two nights.
Day 2.
Around Quito in 24 hours.
After a delicious breakfast, we set out to explore the capital at the heart of the world.

The city is situated in a picturesque valley in the Andes, at an elevation of 2,850 meters above sea level. We’ll take the cable car even higher, and the entire city of Quito will unfold before you, nestled among three towering volcanoes!

Afterward, we’ll take a stroll through the cobblestone streets of the historic center, admire the colonial architecture, and take in the view of the city from the Gothic spires of the basilica.
Let’s have a cup of coffee in the cathedral with the most beautiful lancet windows in the world and sample exclusive varieties of chocolate made from the finest cocoa beans, handpicked in jungles untouched by civilization.

We’re definitely going to find the equator, take photos in both hemispheres, and try out all the unique experiences you can only have here.
Day 3.
Cotopahi: Life at the Foot of a Volcano.
Ecuador is a land of volcanoes. It is home to 27 potentially active volcanoes and another 40 extinct ones. In the morning, we bid farewell to Quito and drive along Volcano Avenue to the foot of the capricious beauty Cotopaxi (5,897 m), which occasionally delights locals with plumes of smoke and ash.

We’ll be staying right at the foot of an active volcano in a luxurious Spanish hacienda where the President of Ecuador himself has stayed!
The luxury of a bygone era, authentic Inca masonry, antiques, vintage books, and fireplaces in every room.

We’ll gaze at the volcano’s snow-capped peak right from the living room window of our colonial estate, take walks in the surrounding area, cuddle with llamas, go horseback riding, enjoy sumptuous candlelit dinners, and chat about life’s big questions while warming ourselves by the fireplace. Mmm… and the way they make traditional potato soup with avocado here! Must try!
Day 4.
Baños. That very swing over the abyss.
Baños is Ecuador’s adrenaline capital. People come here to jump off bridges, walk above the jungle, swing on a swing at the edge of the world, or descend straight into the Devil’s Cauldron. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do!

We’ll drive along the most beautiful road in all of Ecuador—the Waterfall Road—and see the most impressive of them all. At first, you hear a deafening roar, and suddenly… A powerful stream of water crashes against the rocks so close that the spray makes it hard to breathe. You can feel its force in the vibrations of the rock, and if you reach out, you can touch the water.

Let's take a swing at the edge of the world, overlooking a picturesque chasm. Yes, it's not nearly as scary as it looks, but we just had to include it
Add Casa del Arbol to our itinerary.
There are now many similar swings in the area, but these were the first. After all, this is the place to get that perfect photo.

And after such an action-packed day, let’s retreat to a beautiful hotel with hot outdoor thermal pools, a top-notch spa, and breathtaking views of the entire city. Or perhaps you’d like to try a hot stone massage and learn that the stones come from a nearby active volcano?
Day 5.
Kilotoa Lagoon.
Today we’ll visit a crater lake that National Geographic has named one of the “10 Most Beautiful Volcanic Lakes in the World.” Lake Kilotoa is located in the caldera of the volcano of the same name. The last eruption occurred 800 years ago, when the volcano suddenly awoke after 14,000 years of dormancy. The eruption was so powerful that the volcano’s dome collapsed, forming a caldera with a diameter of 3 km.
You’ll have time to enjoy the crystal-clear blue water as you gaze into the depths of the crater, hug the llamas grazing right on the rim, and breathe in the thin air.

After lunch, we’ll return to the luxurious hotel in Quito that we’ve come to know so well, looking forward to tomorrow’s journey to a lost world.
Day 6.
Galápagos Islands. Santa Cruz Island.
By this point, you’ll already be head over heels in love with this little country on the equator, but this is just the beginning... Because in the morning, the plane will carry us a thousand kilometers out into the Pacific Ocean, leaving us in a lost world for six days.

Thanks to its isolation, a unique ecosystem has developed here, giving rise to endemic species found nowhere else on the planet!

It was here that Darwin developed his theory of evolution; here, sea lions lounge lazily on the benches, pelicans beg for fish at the food stalls, and you have to watch your step carefully so you don’t accidentally step on a marine iguana…
Just by walking around the city, you’ll come across many unique animals and birds. This is a place where you definitely won’t need a telephoto lens—the animals are that close!

We’ll be staying at a stylish 5-star hotel on Santa Cruz Island. This is the first of two inhabited islands where we’ll be staying for three nights. The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay: an outdoor bar, lounge areas, an infinity pool, a spa, and its own snow-white yacht, which we’ll soon take to a deserted island.
Day 7.
Galápagos tortoises. The best beach on Santa Cruz Island.
Giant tortoises are among the most iconic animals of the Galápagos Islands. When the first tortoises arrived on the islands, they found no natural predators there. The animals grew to weigh up to 400 kg and lived for up to 150 years. These tortoises were prized by pirates and sailors—the animals were loaded onto ships as “live canned food,” since they could survive for long periods without food or water. This led to the near-extinction of the species. Now, giant tortoises are kept under protection in spacious centers,
one of which we will visit.

We’ll spend the afternoon at the island’s best beach. You’ll fall in love with this place at first sight—there’s no other way.
A wide, endless beach with snow-white sand and azure waters.

The island’s most beautiful beach is free of beach umbrellas, bars, and crowds. Here you’ll find only untouched nature, soothing waves, and several kilometers of hiking trails. For dinner—perfectly prepared seafood at one of those restaurants where you’ll want to order at least 80% of the menu items right away! We’ll end the day at our hotel’s luxurious spa or in a secluded hot tub overlooking the mangrove forest.
Day 8.
North Seymour.
Today is a perfect day to set sail on our snow-white yacht to one of the uninhabited islands—North Seymour.

Don’t you want to see those funny blue-footed boobies right up close? And watch the males perform their famous courtship dance around the females? And see the moms sitting on their eggs with such an air of importance? And the fluffy chicks with their mouths wide open, fresh out of the egg? Their feet aren’t even blue yet—can you believe it? By the way, they don’t get that distinctive shade until they’re two years old.

And besides the Galápagos’ most famous inhabitants, there’s plenty more to see here! For example, frigatebirds—birds with a striking red fleshy pouch under their beaks.
Males use their bright red color to attract females. When an attractive female comes into view, the pouch inflates into an extravagant bubble.

Penguins at the equator are as rare as snow in the desert—they shatter all your preconceptions about the world around you. The famous finches that played a key role in Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution…

Still, one of the most striking things that sets the Galápagos Islands apart from the rest of the world is the animals’ complete lack of fear of humans. We may never fully understand the winding path evolution has taken here, but we can gaze in awe at these almost otherworldly landscapes
and to interact with the native species carefully, without crossing any boundaries.
Day 9.
Private charter to San Cristóbal.
Instead of a tedious boat ride and endless rocking, we’ve booked a private boat that will take us quickly and in the utmost comfort to the neighboring inhabited island. We’ll spend our last few days on San Cristóbal Island. It feels so homey, cozy, and has a wonderful atmosphere.

The first thing that will surprise you upon arriving on the island is the incredible number of sea lions. It seems as though the entire town is populated by these animals. Now that’s a beach you’ll definitely have to share with them! Often, the sea lions swim right up to swimmers, peering curiously into their eyes and tickling them with their whiskers. And during the day, they love to lounge on the boardwalks in playful poses, on benches and tables in the harbor, near restaurants and shops.
Spending a couple of days here, swimming and sunbathing with the sea lions, is an absolute must if you want to truly experience the Galápagos and fall even more in love with them!

It’s time to be amazed all over again—San Cristóbal is home to 400 hectares of coffee plantations, and this is the very place where you can enjoy amazing coffee every morning and, of course, take a couple of bags of this exotic treat home with you.

Our pristine 5-star hotel is located right on the oceanfront, directly across from the beach where the sea lions hang out. On top of everything else, it also features a restaurant ranked among the top 50 in Latin America—which means we’re guaranteed absolutely unbeatable breakfasts.
Day 10.
Sleeping Lion Rock (snorkeling or diving).
This spot is considered the best place to explore the underwater world of the Galápagos Islands. Depending on your skill level (you’ll need an international PADI certification for scuba diving, but for snorkeling, all you need is a desire to try it), we offer two options. Either way, you’re guaranteed to have a blast!

Imagine a giant stingray, bigger than a person, gliding right beside you!
In addition to stingrays, you might spot majestic sea turtles, curious sea lions, penguins, colorful fish, and even a hammerhead shark! Sometimes you can hear whales singing underwater, so keep your ears open!

That evening, at a gala dinner at one of the top-rated restaurants, we share our experiences with our new friends and wonder on which continent we’ll meet again…
Day 11.
Goodbye, Ecuador!
Today, there’s no need to get up at the crack of dawn—we can sleep in until a little later. A final cup of Galapagos coffee, a deep breath, and off we go to the airport.

You have to admit, Ecuador is an extraordinary country. I still can’t wrap my head around how such a small country can hold so many emotions and experiences and bring together so many parallel worlds.
We’ll take you to the airport, but if you’d like, you can stay a little longer :) Spend three days immersing yourself in the magic of the cloud forest, strolling along the rivers to the waterfalls, watching butterflies transform, and marveling at the flight of hummingbirds flitting just a breath away…

Just give us a nod, and we'll take care of everything!
Days 11–13.
Additional program – Cloud Forest.
Optional program.
June 7–9 or June 19–21 (2 nights/3 days)

The national park is a vast cloud forest that is home to 400 species of birds, armadillos, two species of monkeys—capuchins and howler monkeys—butterflies, hummingbirds, toucans, parrots... The forest’s flora is diverse. It is home to camacho, orchids, ferns, tall guayacan trees, and many other endemic species found nowhere else in the world.

Now imagine a luxury lodge nestled amidst this natural splendor, offering top-notch service—without compromising on quality just because you’re far from civilization. A true haven of luxury in the heart of the forest!

And here you are—in Ecuador’s flagship environmental project.

Over the next three days, you’ll be immersed in a world of tropical nature and adventure!
Mesmerizing panoramic views of the cloud forest right from your room’s windows—which literally have glass instead of walls—sunrises from the observation deck, where you can spot over 20 species of birds while sipping a cup of aromatic coffee or hot chocolate, a restaurant serving excellent breakfasts, delicious lunches, and exquisite dinners.

But the most exciting part is the daily expeditions with a naturalist along hidden trails to spot elusive howler monkeys, stroll along the rivers to waterfalls, and climb the observation tower. And there’s also a suspended gondola that will glide safely through the jungle, crossing a gorge over the river, or a bike ride through the canopy of the tallest trees.

Once you return to the lodge, you can visit the spa: try yoga or a massage, or relax in the outdoor hot tub. And after dinner, go for a nighttime stroll. Moths the size of your hand, glass and tree frogs, birds, and owls—the world around you is alive and breathing, waiting for you to fall into its magical embrace. Care to try?
